The Bossier Parish Beginner Honor Band was held this past weekend at Airline High School, bringing together select 6th grade musicians from across the parish to represent their schools and perform together under the direction of guest conductor Travis Carrell.

The Elm Grove Middle School Wind Ensemble recently earned the opportunity to perform at the Louisiana State Assessment, where they received a Sweepstakes Award with all superior ratings—including straight A’s across the board. This achievement represents a historic milestone, marking the first time in school history the ensemble has earned this honor.
We are incredibly proud of these students for representing Elm Grove at the highest level and continuing a tradition of excellence in our band program.

The Elm Grove Wind Ensemble represented our school at the Dallas Winds Invitational, performing at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas. Elm Grove was the only Louisiana school invited to this prestigious event for the past three years, sharing the stage with some of the top middle and high school band programs in the southern United States.
Following this performance, members of the band traveled to Northwestern State University the next day to participate in the Concert Band Invitational, where they worked with special guest composer Dr. Kevin Day. Collaborating directly with a composer whose music they were actively preparing provided a meaningful, real-world connection to the music they performed.
We’re proud of these students and all they’ve accomplished, and we wish them the best of luck as they travel this Friday to Natchitoches to compete in the LMEA State Assessment.

EGMS student council had the opportunity to volunteer cleaning our community Saturday during Operation Clean Sweep! We love serving our community and doing anything we can to better the environment. Our students had so much fun making our home cleaner one step at a time! ❤️🦅
