While some of us were resting during fall break, one of our very own Cope Cougars Marceline Metoyer (7th grader) was busy working, creating, and running her business. She represented Star Creations at the Waskom, Texas Vintage Flea Market, a kid market! She worked really hard and represented her brand well! Star Creations is her handmade jewelry and accessories business. WOW! Excellent job, Marceline! We are proud of you and your efforts! Thank you for working to shine the COPE DIFFERENCE! Keep being GREAT!

AN APPLE FOR THE TEACHER hits different this time of the year! Any donations to help make our apple themed day would help show our entire staff at Cope that we're the APPLE OF YOUR EYE. Our plans for sliced apples, various toppings, warm spiced cider, and carmel apple K-cup coffees with decorations will fill the air with FALL even if the Louisiana weather thinks it's still summer! Our event is planned for next Friday, October 17th, so any donations would need to be delivered to Cope's office area no later than Wednesday, Oct. 15th by end of the day. Parent volunteers would be welcomed to help decorate Thursday afternoon from 2:30-5pm or during Friday's fall fun to keep it stocked. Students and families are welcome to share staff appreciation notes, emails, app communication, or posts on social media to the BEST of the BUNCH at Cope! THANKS for a BUSHEL of donations! Please contact Mary Coleman Smith with any questions, concerns, or suggestions at mary.smith@bossierschools.org. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080A48ADA628ABFE3-59322755-awesome#/--

Our 6th grade classes had a GREAT time today at the bowling alley field trip. The sole purpose was to experience Newton's Laws of Motion in action in "real-life" and they also got to have fun, socialize, and play games! More pictures will be posted in the comments of our Facebook page. We can only have 10 posted on the app at one time!

Parent donated Sam’s onions (Funyuns), Mr. Sir’s sunflower seeds, Kissing Kate Barlow’s Sploosh (peaches), water canteen (water bottles), and snacks to DIG INTO (individual dirt cups with shovel spoons)! CMS parents-- Please check your email associated with your CMS student to look for a impact aid submission form. We are not sending a paper copy this year; this is online only. Please complete this at your earliest convenience. If you are military, civil service, or reside on government property, your response is essential. Please use this attached image to help you login with your student's local ID number. We appreciate you taking the time to complete this form for us! The entire process takes less than 3 minutes! The deadline to complete this form is October 24, 2025.

October brings cooler weather and the excitement of fall activities. This month,
the CMS counselors will be focusing on the importance of building empathy and understanding
within our school community. As we celebrate the season, let’s also take time to appreciate the diverse perspectives and experiences!

CMS 6th grade parents and students: We've almost survived Camp Green Lake in our first class novel, Holes, for 6th grade! This Thursday, Oct. 2 we have a fun filled themed snack fest Cougar Party in honor of our novel for students. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to celebrate surviving the 1st 9 weeks in 6th grade.

Sixth grade students can wear ORANGE shirts with uniform bottoms Thursday, October 2nd.

We would also love parent volunteers to help decorate Wednesday afternoon and parent volunteers to serve snacks to classes throughout the day on Thursday. Please help us dig up some reading treasures before we head to fall break!

Donations can be mailed directly to the school as long as they will be delivered by Tuesday, can be dropped off in the office for 6th grade, or can be brought to school by students. Again, all donations must be made by Tuesday in order to prepare for this wild adventure!

Please email mary.smith@bossierschools.org with any questions, concerns, or suggestions!
